Full Stack PHP Developer – Dorset area – salary circa 35k doe

Position : Full Stack PHP Developer

Salary : c£25-35k plus benefits

Location : Dorset

Purpose of role:

The role is for a full stack PHP developer to contribute to the on-going development of the Company’s product portfolio and onward development and delivery of customer solutions.

Primarily the role will focus on development using web-based technologies. The position will include working on both back-end database and front-end environments. It requires a person with excellent technical and communication skills who can communicate well with customers and technical staff at all levels as necessary

Key result areas:

  • To specify, design, develop, test, document, install and maintain software which will form part of the Company’s products, service delivery and infrastructure.
  • To collaborate with other members of the development and delivery teams in an Agile environment
  • To take ownership for the quality of their work
  • To drive a continuous improvement culture

Need to have:

  • Minimum 2 years’ development experience
  • Have a working knowledge of the MVC approach
  • Experience of working with the following:
    • PHP
    • JavaScript / JQuery / AJAX
    • HTML / CSS / Bootstrap
  • Good understanding of relational database design principles and SQL is essential
  • Be able to demonstrate any previous work relating to web development

Desirable but not essential:

  • Knowledge on using version control systems ideally Git/Github
  • Experience of developing and testing responsive websites for multiple browsers, platforms and devices
  • Experience with Apache or IIS server configuration
  • Understanding web services

Able to:

  • Think quickly, clearly and analytically about software issues
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (oral and written) in order to communicate effectively with clients and divisions within the Company
  • Operate as a flexible, positive, self-motivated and a diligent hard working team player with a ‘Can-Do’ attitude
