March figures: Job opportunities up 11% year-on-year

Hurrah!  Finally some good news on the job front, although this is what many (certainly in the local market) have been saying for a while.  Its still hard to recruit for certain industries (Engineering, good sales people etc) both for temporary and permanent staff.  Also the introduction of the AWR (Agency workers regulations) which sees temps getting parity pay to permanent employees after 12 weeks is not helping the flow of temp labour.  Many agencies locally are struggling to find temps (even for unfilled roles) as people arent moving around so much.

However there does appear to be more confidence around British Business and this is certainly reflected by the businesses we speak to in Dorset.  Many companies are having record years – long may it continue!
